Sinking Willows is a bittersweet narrative fishing game about memories and loss.

In a world sinking under a never ending rain, you play as Löa, a young fisher looking for his childhood friend Mirel through a collection of memories before everything disappears.

Context

Sinking Willows is a student project part of our first year of a master's degree. The objective was to create a short impacting experience in 4 months. 

Story

The world is nearing its end. The Earth is slowly disappearing, battered by torrential rain. You are one of the few survivors. Most have perished, lost beneath the waves.

One day, while fishing, you are struck by a terrible revelation. In the eyes of the fish you are holding, you recognize your best friend: Mirel. He is here, after all this time… but you can feel him slipping away. Cherish these final moments with him before everything fades away.
